Are you looking for an exciting career working on trucks and other heavy vehicles? This course will give you a specialised skills in the maintenance and repair of heavy commercial vehicles.
You will gain hands-on skills to:
- diagnose and repair faults
- service and maintain components such as suspension, steering and electrical systems
- use specialised tools
- ensure a safe working environment
- communicate with clients.
This course can lead to jobs such as:
- heavy vehicle mechanic
- diesel mechanic
- heavy commercial vehicle technician
- fleet maintenance technician.
This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

This course must be done as an apprenticeship. You’ll get practical skills and experience in a specific trade or profession. On completion you will receive a nationally recognised qualification.
