The Victorian Skills Gateway (VSG) website and coursefinder is managed by the Victorian Skills Authority. It has been operating since 2012.
The VSG is the Victorian Government’s most visited and comprehensive online vocational education and training (VET) resource.
The VSG is widely used by:
- prospective students
- parents and carers
- careers practitioners (including at secondary schools)
- Skills and Jobs Centres
- up-skillers
- career changers and more.
The VSG provides information on Free TAFE and Skills First government-funded VET courses. This includes apprenticeship and traineeship courses. Courses are offered at TAFEs and other registered VET providers across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.
The courses listed on the VSG website are either:
- regulated qualifications under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), or
- short training programs comprising units of competency from regulated qualifications.
All course providers listed on the VSG are:
- registered under the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), or
- registered under the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA).
