About this course

This short course is a legal requirement for anyone who wants to work on a building site in Victoria. It’s required by law before you start work on any construction site.

You will learn how to:

  • spot common hazards on site
  • use basic safety rules to reduce risks
  • know what to do in an emergency
  • report safety issues the right way
  • choose and wear the right safety gear (PPE).

This short course consists of nationally recognised units of competency.

Licensing and regulatory information

Once you pass the training and assessment, you will get a Statement of Attainment. You can then get your Construction induction card (white card), which proves you understand how to work safely. It is recognised across Victoria and Australia.
