About this course

Do you have the basic rigging skills and want to take the next step? This intermediate level short course will move you towards advanced rigging.

You will learn how to:

  • set up and guide different crane types
  • rig and move machinery safely
  • position heavy materials like concrete and steel
  • use the correct safety equipment
  • install nets, lines, and protective screens
  • plan complex lifts 
  • work with dual cranes and demolition tasks.

This short course consists of nationally recognised units of competency.

Licensing and regulatory information

Once you pass the training and assessment, you will get a Statement of Attainment. You can then apply to WorkSafe Victoria for your High risk work licence (intermediate rigging licence – RI class).
