About this course
Are you looking to work as a rigger in the building and construction industry? This short course will give you the knowledge and skills you’ll need to get started.
It will teach you how to use mechanical load shifting equipment to safely move loads. You’ll also learn how to work with:
- structural steel erection
- hoists
- pre-cast concrete members of a structure
- safety nets and static lines
- mast climbing work platforms
- perimeter safety screens and shutters
- cantilevered crane loading platforms.
After you’ve completed the course, you can also extend your skills with intermediate and advanced rigging courses.
This short course consists of nationally recognised units of competency.

On completion of this course you can apply for a High Risk Licence through WorkSafe Victoria.
