About this course
This short course teaches you how to safely operate a slewing mobile crane with a boom that swings and lifts loads up to 60 tonnes. These cranes are used on construction sites, mines, docks, and other heavy-duty workplaces.
You’ll learn how to:
- plan the job and check the site
- inspect and set up the crane
- use outriggers, booms, and lifting gear
- move loads using slings and signals
- shut down and pack up the crane safely
- follow safety rules and emergency steps.
You will learn in the classroom and get hands-on practice with real equipment. You will be assessed through written tasks and practical activities.
Note: This unit does not fulfill all of the requirements for a High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) to operate this plant. Talk to your training provider for more information.
