About this course

This unit shows you how to safely set up, change, and take down basic scaffolding. You’ll learn how to use the right equipment, follow safety rules, and work as part of a team on construction sites. It’s a hands-on unit that prepares you for real work in the building industry.

This short course covers:

  • how to build scaffolding systems
  • using safety equipment like nets, static lines and hoists
  • working at heights
  • teamwork and communication. 

This short course consists of nationally recognised units of competency.

Licensing and regulatory information

Before entering a construction site, you’ll need to complete the unit ‘CONISS012 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry’. If you complete this unit with a WorkSafe approved training provider, you will be issued with a Construction induction card (white card).
