About this course
This short course teaches you how to safely work in confined spaces. You will learn how to safely work in dangerous environments like:
- storage tanks
- pits and degreasers
- silos
- tunnels
- crawl spaces.
The course covers:
- planning what is involved before entering
- identifying risks like low oxygen or toxic gases
- choosing and wear the right safety gear (PPE)
- checking for safe breathing conditions
- understanding entry rules and safety paperwork
- knowing what to do in the case of an emergency.
You’ll get hands-on practice, like crawling through tight spaces and climbing ladders. The assessment includes written and hands-on activities.
Once you pass the training and assessment, you will get a Statement of Attainment.
This short course consists of nationally recognised units of competency.
