About this course

Do you want to understand how goods move from one place to another in a safe, efficient and organised way? If you enjoy planning, solving problems and keeping things running smoothly, a career in logistics may be for you.

This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

In this course, you will learn how logistics works across transport, storage, supply chains and distribution. You will also learn about how products are received, stored, tracked and delivered on time. You will develop your skills in coordinating people, and you’ll gain an understanding of processes and resourcing.

You will learn how to:

plan the movement of goods
manage stock and storage
monitor delivery schedules
improve workflow and reduce delays
support safe work practices
solve day-to-day operational problems
use systems and processes to track goods and information.

This course will prepare you for work in:

warehouses
transport companies
distribution centres
retail supply chains
manufacturing
and other industries that rely on moving goods.

This course can be done as a traineeship. You’ll get technical knowledge through coursework and hands-on experience through paid work. On completion you will receive a nationally recognised qualification.

To enrol as a trainee, you’ll need:
1. a job in a relevant workplace in the same field as your course, and
2. an employer willing to sign a Commonwealth Government ‘Training Contract’ and support your learning at work.
