About this course

Would you like to work as a dental technician? This course will give you advanced skills to make and repair dental appliances like dentures, crowns, bridges and braces.

The skills and knowledge you will gain include learning how to:

manage and organise information in a dental setting
create accurate dental models for various appliances
communicate effectively with dentists and patients
follow safety practices.

This course can lead to jobs such as:

dental technician
orthodontic technician
prosthetic technician
dental laboratory manager.

This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

This course can be done as an apprenticeship. You’ll get practical skills and experience in a specific trade or profession. On completion you will receive a nationally recognised qualification.

To do an apprenticeship you’ll need an employer willing to hire you as an apprentice.
