About this course

Would you like to enhance your skills in the community services sector, with a focus on alcohol and other drug (AOD) issues?

This course will equip you with specialist knowledge around AOD laws, services that can help your clients and health issues linked to drug and alcohol abuse.

Throughout the course, you will gain skills to provide clients with:

  • counselling support
  • referral services relevant to their AOD issues
  • access to health promotion services
  • support on their recovery journey
  • legal and ethical support.

People with this qualification work in a range of roles including:

  • drug and alcohol counsellor
  • community rehabilitation and support worker
  • AOD rehabilitation worker
  • mental health outreach worker
  • outreach officer
  • youth AOD worker.
