About this course
This skill set teaches you how to stay safe while working on rooftops with solar panels and other renewable energy systems. It’s designed for people who want to work in clean energy and need to understand the risks and safety rules.
You will learn how to:
- spot hazards on rooftops
- wear safety gear and how to use it properly
- work safely around solar panels and electrical systems
- follow safety laws and workplace rules.
You will get hands-on training in solar and renewable energy systems in the construction industry. The training will also cover what to do in an emergency.
This course is useful training for:
- licensed tradespeople (electricians, plumbers)
- apprentices in construction or electrical fields
- trade assistants and labourers working on rooftops
- anyone involved in solar installations under programs like Victoria’s Solar Homes Program.
It is also a mandatory requirement for on-site workers installing rooftop solar, battery storage, or solar hot water systems in Victoria.
