About this course

Are you ready to take the next step in your retail career? This course will give you the skills to manage a store, lead a team and create a great shopping experience.

You will gain the skills to:

supervise staff
motivate teams
develop customer service strategies
manage stock, sales and budgets
understand marketing techniques to attract customers
increase sales
handle daily operations and improve efficiency.

The training will also help you develop your skills in:

managing workplace challenges
leadership
problem solving
business decisions.

This course will prepare you for roles like:

store manager
department manager
assistant store manager.

This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

This course must be done as a traineeship. You’ll get technical knowledge through coursework and hands-on experience through paid work. On completion you will receive a nationally recognised qualification.

To enrol as a trainee, you’ll need:
1. a job in a relevant workplace in the same field as your course, and
2. an employer willing to sign a Commonwealth Government ‘Training Contract’ and support your learning at work.
