About this course
Are you an aspiring photographer? Would you like to advance your career in digital and photo imaging? This course covers both photography and photo imaging.
Core skills you will learn include how to:
- process photo images
- enhance, manipulate and output photo images
- capture images in response to a brief
- apply photo imaging lighting techniques
- store and maintain finished creative work
- develop and apply photo imaging industry knowledge.
You can also choose elective subjects in areas that interest you, for example:
- creating and optimising digital media
- starting a new photography business
- managing copyright
- providing freelance services
- capturing images using drone technology.
Note that the availability of electives may vary depending on your selected training provider.
This training will qualify you for roles including:
- freelance photographer
- photographer’s assistant (studio)
- compositor
- digital retoucher
- photo or minilab retail assistant.
You could work in a range of settings including retail, commercial, domestic portrait, media, wedding, illustrative, institutional and art photography. This course is also a pathway to the Diploma of Photography and Digital Imaging if you choose.
This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
