This course will teach you how to empower clients to work towards self-directed recovery.

You will learn the following core skills:

  • establishing relationships with clients
  • assessing and promoting wellbeing

  • working with other service providers
  • trauma informed care
  • workplace health and safety
  • legal and ethical practices.

You can also choose from a range of electives. Note that the availability of electives may vary depending on your selected training provider.

This course will prepare you for roles in clinical, community and residential settings. This includes: 

  • home-based outreach 
  • respite care
  • rehabilitation programs and
  • employment support.

A minimum number of work placement hours must be completed to achieve this qualification.

This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
