About this course
Do you want to work as a personal trainer? This course will teach you how to plan and deliver custom fitness plans. Learn how to meet the fitness needs and goals of your clients.
This training will teach you how to:
- establish and manage client relationships
- develop personalised exercise programs
- instruct personalised exercise sessions
- develop and instruct personalised exercise programs for different people and groups
- use exercise science principles in fitness instruction
- support exercise behaviour change
- establish and maintain professional practice for fitness instruction
- support healthy eating for fitness clients.
You can also choose electives in areas that interest you, for example:
- planning and instructing online exercise sessions
- small business operations
- conducting sport, fitness or recreation events
- using social media and online tools.
Note that the availability of electives may vary depending on your selected training provider.
On completion of this training, you’ll be qualified as a personal trainer. You will be able to provide one-on-one and small group personal training.
You could choose to establish your own personal training business, or to work in a range of environments such as:
- gyms
- community centres
- workplaces
- outdoor locations.
This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
Licensing and regulatory information
On completion of the course you’ll be eligible to register with organisations such as Physical Activity Australia and AusActive Australia.
