About this course
Are you looking to become a supervisor in the disability sector? This training allows you to become an important part of helping in a range of community settings and peoples’ homes.
Build your understanding and skills to support people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of:
- independence
- self-reliance
- community participation
- well-being.
You will learn how to:
- support people with complex needs
- work with people with mental health issues
- develop a person-centered approach and
- work according to legal and ethical standards.
This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
Completion of:
- CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)
OR:
- CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)
OR:
- CHC30408 Certificate III in Disability AND
- CHCSS00125 Entry to Certificate IV in Disability Support Skill Set.
This course can be done as a traineeship. You’ll get technical knowledge through coursework and hands-on experience through paid work. On completion you will receive a nationally recognised qualification.
To enrol as a trainee, you’ll need:
- a job in a relevant workplace in the same field as your course, and
- an employer willing to sign a Commonwealth Government ‘Training Contract’ and support your learning at work.
