About this course

Have you ever wanted to learn how to make shoes? This course will give you the skills to create stylish, comfortable and unique shoes from scratch.

In this hands-on training you will learn how to design, cut, shape and stitch footwear using different materials like leather and fabric.

The course also covers:

choosing the right materials
crafting footwear tailored to individual needs
how to run a small business.

You’ll also learn how to create medical-grade footwear for people with special physical needs.

This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

This course can be done as an apprenticeship. You’ll get practical skills and experience in a specific trade or profession. On completion you will receive a nationally recognised qualification.

To do an apprenticeship you’ll need an employer willing to hire you as an apprentice.
