About this course

Are you looking to advance your career in community pharmacy? This course is for experienced pharmacy assistants who want to take on more responsibilities. You will learn advanced skills to help manage a community pharmacy and support customers with their health needs.

You will learn how to:

lead and manage a team
maintain workplace health and safety
assist in managing pharmacy medicines.

To enter this course, you will need to have completed the Certificate III in Community Pharmacy or have relevant work experience.

After completing this course, you will be able to work as a senior pharmacy assistant or a front-of-shop manager in community pharmacies.

This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

This course can be done as a traineeship. You’ll get technical knowledge through coursework and hands-on experience through paid work. On completion you will receive a nationally recognised qualification.

To enrol as a trainee, you’ll need:
1. a job in a relevant workplace in the same field as your course, and
2. an employer willing to sign a Commonwealth Government ‘Training Contract’ and support your learning at work.
