About this course

Do you work in the construction industry? This course can upskill you for a leadership or management role within this growing sector.

This training will teach you the skills and knowledge needed to supervise and lead others in construction environments. You will learn how to demonstrate leadership, coordinate business operational plans, implement work health and safety and apply on-site risk management.

You can choose to specialise in one of the following: 

  • supervision 
  • operations.

You can also choose elective subjects to hone your supervision skills in areas that interest you, for example:

  • civil steel structure construction
  • pavement maintenance
  • asphalt paving and compaction
  • demolitions
  • canal construction
  • tunnel boring machine operations
  • earthworks construction.

Note that the availability of electives may vary depending on your selected training provider.

On completion of this training you could work in a range of roles. These include:

  • civil construction supervisor
  • roads maintenance team leader 
  • civil construction foreman.

This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
