About this course

Do you already work in the agriculture industry? This training will help to progress in your career to work as a supervisor or team leader on a working farm. The course will also teach you the business skills to manage a farm or agribusiness.

You can choose from elective subjects to tailor this training to your areas of interest. Check with your training provider to find out the study options they offer. 

The training may include: 

  • managing and maintaining agricultural crops
  • managing agricultural seed and grain
  • biosecurity and chemical use programs
  • animal health, wellbeing, feeding and breeding
  • property, machinery and equipment management and maintenance
  • finance, insurance and legal administration for primary production businesses
  • irrigation system design, installation and management
  • milking equipment design, installation and management
  • managing shearing  operations
  • wool classing, harvesting and quality assurance
  • stud management.

You will be qualified for these types of roles after completing this training: 

  • farm supervisor
  • dairy installation and service technician 
  • stud farm supervisor.

Work must comply with health and safety and environmental regulations and legislation that apply to the workplace.

This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
