Do you want to take your career in the security sector to the next level? If you’re currently working as a security officer or crowd controller, this course could be for you.
The training will develop your skills and knowledge in broad security operations. It will also teach you the practical skills you need to be a security team leader.
In this security operations course you will learn how to:
- respond to security risks
- manage conflict and security risks through negotiation
- monitor and control individual and crowd behaviour
- contribute to team effectiveness
- provide quality security services to clients.
You can also choose electives in areas that interest you, for example:
- responding to security risks
- monitoring security and coordinating response from control rooms
- controlling people using batons
- restraining people using handcuffs
- controlling security risk situations using firearms
- handling dogs for security patrols
- cash-in-transit security procedures, and more.

This training provides a pathway to further learning and work in various security roles and settings, including security risk management.
This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
