About this course
Do you want to work in the printing industry? This course will give you the skills to:
- operate printing machines
- work with different materials
- produce high-quality prints for books, packaging and signage.
You’ll also learn how to:
- print on paper, fabric and other surfaces
- use modern printing equipment
- mix colours and follow design requirements
- keep machines running smoothly
- work safely in a print shop.
This course will prepare you for roles at printing businesses, packaging businesses and design studios. Roles may include:
- printer
- press operator
- print technician
- graphic production assistant.
This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

This course can be done as an apprenticeship. You’ll get practical skills and experience in a specific trade or profession. On completion you will receive a nationally recognised qualification.
To do an apprenticeship you’ll need an employer willing to hire you as an apprentice.
