About this course

Are you interested in the world of locks and security systems? This course is your pathway to becoming a skilled locksmith.

In this course you will learn:

lock repair and installation
how to install and maintain security systems for homes, businesses and vehicles
how to cut keys accurately for different types of locks
safety procedures in the locksmithing trade
how to read and interpret technical drawings related to locking systems.

This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

This course must be done as an apprenticeship. You’ll get practical skills and experience in a specific trade or profession. On completion you will receive a nationally recognised qualification.

To do an apprenticeship you’ll need an employer willing to hire you as an apprentice.
