About this course

Health care is one of the most in-demand industries in Australia. In this course you will learn how to support clients and staff in hospitals and other health care settings. You'll be supervised by medical and health care professionals. 

The course will cover technical skills and procedural knowledge, including:

  • communicating in health or community services
  • medical terminology
  • infection prevention and control
  • patient transport and movement
  • preparing patients for procedures 
  • equipment and supplies handling
  • food serving
  • clinical cleaning and maintenance. 

You will also learn to provide safe care with empathy and respect.
