About this course
Are you interested in a career in food processing? This course will prepare you for various roles in food processing and production.
You will gain experience using food processing equipment, and you’ll learn industry-specific techniques. The course covers essential topics in the food processing industry including:
- food safety and quality
- health and safety
- environmental sustainability
- stock management.
You can specialise in areas like dairy processing, brewing or packaging. Note that the availability of electives may vary depending on your selected training provider.
This course can be done as a traineeship so you will learn these skills on-the-job. Talk to your preferred training provider for details.
This course will prepare you to work as a:
- food processing operator
- quality assurance technician.
Completing this course can also lead to further studies in food technology or management.
This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

This course can be done as a traineeship. You’ll get technical knowledge through coursework and hands-on experience through paid work. On completion you will receive a nationally recognised qualification.
