About this course

Are you interested in a career in the electricity supply industry (ESI)?

This course teaches you how to install and maintain:

underground cables
utility services
electrical equipment.

In the training you will learn about:

health and safety regulations
electrical components
magnetic devices
electromagnetic devices
direct current circuits
drawings and diagrams
industry standards and specifications.

This course opens several career opportunities in the ESI and can lead to jobs such as:

underground cable jointer
electrical line worker
network operator
field service technician.

This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

This course must be done as an apprenticeship. You’ll get practical skills and experience in a specific trade or profession. On completion you will receive a nationally recognised qualification.

To do an apprenticeship you’ll need an employer willing to hire you as an apprentice.
