Do you want to work in the steel and metals industry? This apprenticeship course will help you build a career in metal fabrication and engineering.
You will learn industry-specific skills across:
- metal fabrication
- forging
- founding
- electroplating
- welding
- sheet metal work
- thermal cutting
- metal spinning and polishing.
With practical and theoretical training, you can explore a career as a:
- metal fitter
- tool maker
- die maker
- mechanical fitter
- maintenance mechanic
- plant mechanic
- fitter and turner.
Note that the availability of electives may vary depending on your selected training provider.
This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
There are no entry requirements for this qualification. However, most providers will require that you are already employed as an apprentice.
This course must be done as an apprenticeship. You’ll get practical skills and experience in a specific trade or profession. On completion you will receive a nationally recognised qualification.
To do an apprenticeship you’ll need an employer willing to hire you as an apprentice.
