About this course

Are you interested in electrical equipment and want to make it your career?

This course leads to becoming a qualified electrical fitter. You will gain the skills and knowledge needed to work on all types of electrical equipment.

You will get hands-on experience and learn the theory required to be an electrical fitter. This course covers a range of topics, including electrical safety, wiring, and equipment installation.

You will learn to:

install and maintain electrical equipment
read and interpret electrical diagrams
apply safety standards and regulations
troubleshoot and repair electrical systems.

After you complete this course, you will be able to work in various industries including:

manufacturing
construction
maintenance.

This course opens doors to roles such as:

electrical fitter
maintenance electrician
industrial electrician.

This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

Licensing and regulatory information

You will be required to install equipment that is fixed wired into an electrical installation and must be licenced to practice in accordance with the requirements of the Victorian Electricity Safety Act 1998.

This course must be done as an apprenticeship. You’ll get practical skills and experience in a specific trade or profession. On completion you will receive a nationally recognised qualification.
