About this course
Would you like to work as a waterproofing specialist in the building industry? This course will give you the skills you need. It will prepare you to install waterproofing systems in residential and commercial projects. You will also learn essential construction work skills.
Waterproofing workers apply membranes and special coatings to protect the contents and structural integrity of buildings.
Skills covered in the course include:
- waterproofing below ground and above ground wet areas
- working with plans and specifications
- using waterproofing tools and materials
- achieving waterproofing standards
- surface preparation.
This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
Licensing and regulatory information
Before entering a construction site, you'll need to complete the unit ‘CONISS012 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry'. If you complete this unit with a WorkSafe approved training provider, you will be issued with a Construction induction card (white card).
