About this course

Do you like working with your hands and have a passion for creating beautiful, functional timber pieces? This course gives you a chance to turn that passion into a career.

You will gain hands-on experience and advanced skills using timber to design, construct and install cabinetry.

You will learn how to make:

custom cabinets
timber furniture
kitchen cabinets
interior timber features.

The course also covers:

practical skills for creating quality cabinetry and timber products
understanding materials, tools and techniques
workplace safety and rules
problem-solving and critical thinking through hands-on projects.

This course can lead to jobs in the cabinet making and timber industry such as:

cabinet maker
joiner
furniture maker
timber technician.

This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

This course must be done as an apprenticeship. You’ll get practical skills and experience in a specific trade or profession. On completion you will receive a nationally recognised qualification.

To do an apprenticeship you’ll need an employer willing to hire you as an apprentice.
