Certificate III in Appliance Service

About this course

Do you like to learn how appliances work, and find ways to fix them? This course will give you the skills to repair and maintain appliances.

The types of appliances you will work on include:

washing machines
dryers
refrigerators
small electrical appliances
appliance control devices.

In this course you will learn:

how to install, service and repair various appliances
how to diagnose, test and repair electrical faults
about working safely and to industry codes
about communicating with customers.

This course can lead to jobs such as:

appliance service technician
refrigeration mechanic
electrical appliance technician
customer service and technical support.

This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

This course must be done as an apprenticeship. You’ll get practical skills and experience in a specific trade or profession. On completion you will receive a nationally recognised qualification.

To do an apprenticeship you’ll need an employer willing to hire you as an apprentice.
