About this course
Are you interested in electrical systems? Would you like to work on the design, maintenance, installation and repair of electrical and electronic equipment?
This course is a pre-apprenticeship. It will give you a chance to experience the electrotechnology sector and help you decide whether this is the right industry for you. It covers basic electrotechnology skills and knowledge and provides grounding in industry safety.
Electrotechnology is a diverse industry that includes areas such as:
- renewable energy
- air conditioning and refrigeration
- instrumentation
- lighting
- general power
- fire protection and security
- robotics
- optical data and voice systems
- electrical motors and control systems and more.
You can work for a small business, a large company or even start your own business.
After completing this course, you may choose to complete further qualifications in electrotechnology or electrical fitting.
This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
