About this course
If you enjoy baking, this course will teach you the skills you need to work in a commercial baking environment.
This training will teach you how to:
- produce basic bread products
- maintain ingredient stores
- prepare fillings
- follow food safety procedures.
You can also choose electives in your area of interest, for example:
- producing sponge cake products
- producing biscuit and cookie products
- selling to retail customers.
Note that the availability of electives may vary depending on your selected training provider.
This course will prepare you for the role of baker’s assistant, where you will support bakers, pastry chefs and cooks. On completion, you may also choose to do a baking apprenticeship or further study in bread baking or pastry.
