Do you want to work in the automotive industry? If you’re a young person looking to start your career, or you’re after a change of career, this course in vehicle body repairs could be for you.

This course will teach you the basics of smash repairs, as well as how to work in an automotive workplace.

You can also choose elective subjects in areas that interest you, for example:

  • automotive body repair 
  • automotive painting 
  • glazing
  • glass and windows
  • plastic and composite surfaces
  • refinishing
  • marine trims
  • metal arc welding.

Note that the availability of electives may vary depending on your selected training provider.

On completion of this training you may be qualified to work in roles such as a vehicle dismantler, vehicle window tinter, vehicle detailer, vehicle trimming assistant or mechanic’s assistant.

This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
