About this course
Are you a young person with special learning needs or learning difficulties? This course will give you an understanding of basic workplace expectations, helping build your independence and confidence.
The training will teach you how to:
- work and communicate effectively in a workplace
- participate in OHS processes
- operate a computer
- develop a vocational learning plan
- apply basic mathematical concepts
- develop personal management skills and
- take part in job-seeking activities with support.
Course eligibility:
- If you are 17 or over you can enrol in the course if you have evidence of permanent cognitive and/or intellectual disability.
- If you are under 17 you may be eligible to enrol in exceptional circumstances. You will need evidence of permanent cognitive and/or intellectual disability. Contact your preferred training provider for more information.
On completion of the course, career opportunities could include:
- open or supported employment
- voluntary work.
This course is a pathway to the Certificate II in Work Education.
