About this course

If you’re a Vocational Education and Training (VET) practitioner and you would like to work as a VET assessor, this skill set is for you. 

In the training, you will learn how to: 

  • plan and carry out assessment activities and processes
  • validate assessments
  • design and develop tools to help with assessments.

To become an assessor, you will also need vocational competence and industry knowledge in the subjects you will be assessing.

On completion of this skill set you will meet the competencies for the ‘Standards for RTOs’ requirements.

You'll need to meet these standards to work as an assessor at:  

  • Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 
  • TAFEs
  • private training organisations.

Completion of this skill set will also give you credit towards further training that includes these units, including: 

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Diploma of Vocational Education and Training
  • Diploma of Training Design and Development.

This skill set is nationally recognised.
