About this course
If you work in community services or health services, this skill set will teach you how to support people with alcohol and drug related issues.
In the training you’ll learn how to:
- assess client needs
- provide interventions, such as motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)
- develop treatment plans
- work in the alcohol and drug (AOD) sector.
This skill set is suitable if you have an existing qualification at Certificate III level or higher in community services, health, or a related field. You may also qualify if you have equivalent industry experience.
Completion of this skill set will give you credit towards courses in the CHC Community Services Training Package, including Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs.
This skill set is nationally recognised.
