Advanced Diploma of Building Surveying

About this course

This course will allow you to work as an assistant to a building surveyor or certifier, in roles such as a building surveyor technician. You will learn to use your knowledge of construction methods and materials to assess building compliance. You will also gain the skills to provide building advisory services.

This training will prepare you to carry out the following tasks:

• advising clients on compliance requirements
• processing planning and building applications
• conducting mandatory inspections
• auditing buildings 
• following up on areas of non-compliance
• issuing certificates of occupancy.

Building surveying plays an important role in the construction industry. 

After you complete this course, you may choose to go onto further study in a degree at university in building surveying or building and construction.

This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
