Finding government-subsidised training

Government-subsidised training is marked with this symbol . Course availability data is sourced from the Australian Course Information Register.

Courses marked 'Tuition fee-free at TAFE' are on the Victorian Government's Free TAFE for Priority Courses initiative list. This means students who are eligible for government-subsidised training can enrol in one priority course for free at a TAFE Victoria provider.

Your TAFE will confirm your eligibility when you enrol in a course on the Free TAFE for Priority Courses initiative list.

It's important to know that TAFEs may charge other fees, such as student services fees or materials fees, and you'll need to cover these costs yourself.

The provider ratings data was collected through the Department of Education and Training’s 2015 Student Satisfaction Survey. In 2014, over 220,000 students enrolled in a Victorian Government subsidised vocational training course were invited to participate. Over 31,000 students responded to the survey.

The rating shows the percentage of students who recommend the training provider. The results are based on the following survey question, 'How likely are you to promote or recommend this training organisation to other students?'

Employment outcomes

The rating shows the percentage of students with an improved employment status after training. The results are based on survey questions which ask about current employment status compared to employment status prior to commencement of training.

No data

The 'no data' message displays when:

• The number of survey participants from the training provider is too small to report. This is because the results could be misleading.
• The data is not available. This might happen if the training provider does not deliver Victorian Government subsidised training.
