Help & advice

Skills and Jobs Centres are a Victorian government program to help current and prospective students, job seekers and employers.

They provide free expert advice and support with:

  • choosing TAFE and training courses
  • choosing or changing your career
  • finding and applying for a job
  • doing an apprenticeships and traineeships
  • getting financial support
  • getting credit for your skills and any past study.

Skills and Jobs Centres are closely connected with each other, and with their local TAFEs and training providers. They can refer you to the centre, TAFE or provider that best suits your needs.

Who they can help

Skills and Jobs Centres support:

  • prospective and current students
  • apprentices and trainees
  • people who are unemployed or retrenched
  • people returning to work
  • new immigrants or refugees
  • people looking to change their career.

They also offer services to employers looking to upskill or expand their workforce.
