Steve Leahy's experience of skills stores
Before he visited the North West Melbourne Skills Store, Steve Leahy held a Certificate III in Security and Operations and had plenty of experience as a security guard and crowd controller.
After going through the process, which involved an online self-assessment and a formal assessment at a local TAFE institute, Steve's qualification was upgraded to a Certificate IV in Security and Risk Management. The higher level certificate means that he can now apply for managerial roles.
"Skills Store staff were absolutely exceptional and they supported me the whole way through," said Steve. "Best of all, the process was fast and stress-free."
"I'm so glad I did it. This qualification will make all the difference when I apply for more senior roles."
