From time to time directions may be issued by the responsible Minister to clarify the management, reporting and other responsibilities of TAFE institute boards, and to give direction about employment of staff, the charging of fees, or other specific matters. Some Directions are also given to councils of universities with TAFE divisions.

1. Ministerial Direction to the Boards of TAFE Institutes - Non aquisition of interests in private providers (DOC 64.5 KB)

   This Ministerial Direction prohibits the acquisition by a TAFE institute of an interest in a private education provider, or in a related entity of one, without prior Ministerial consent. It supersedes the Ministerial Drection on the same subject of 21 March 2011. This Direction is valid until 31 March 2013. Issued: 30 March 2012 Published: April 2012
