Leading the way in e-learning

Lynne Gibb, Coonara Community House (Learn Local Award finalist)Lynne Gibb

For Lynne all learning pathways deserve to be explored. It is this spirit that has helped many learners reach levels of success they would never have thought possible.

When Lynne came to Coonara Community House in Upper Ferntree Gully after 39 years in children’s services she found she had an immediate affinity for the Learn Local education and training sector.

Lynne is all about learning and she practices what she preaches. She has embraced blended learning as a mode of teaching to ensure education remains relevant and exciting to learners of all ages.

Since taking up the challenge of e-learning she has become regarded as one of the emerging experts in e-portfolios in vocational education and training (VET).

‘Lynne’s willingness to share her knowledge in the use of innovative approaches to delivery is always inspiring. She is a true leader in change and innovation in VET practice.’

But Lynne’s endeavours go beyond just her willingness to try new things.  It is about the dedication and motivation that she provides to learners and those around her.

As one of her students reflected ‘on the days when I felt like giving up, for one reason or another, Lynne always seemed to be able to make it all seem worthwhile and give me the encouragement to continue … and not give up.’
