Program support

The National Training Information Service (NTIS) is a national government database of information on courses, qualifications, training packages and training organisations.

The Training Support Network (TSN) is a Victorian government website that provides access to curriculum documents, newsletters and teacher networks.

Certificate for General Education for Adult

The Certificate for General Education for Adults (CGEA) is a suite of Further Education qualifications from Course in Initial General Education for Adults through to Certificate III in General Education for Adults. They address the further education needs for adults who have left school early and need to improve their literacy, basic maths and general education skills. It is used nationally by Learn Local organisations, TAFE, universities, schools and other Registered Training Organisations.

The CGEA Implementation Guide is the authoritative source of advice on implementing the CGEA. It is supported by the CGEA Sample Assessment Tools.

CGEA Implementation Guide (PDF, 1417.53 KB)

CGEA Sample Assessment Tools (PDF, 1264.28 KB)

The tools are designed to assist teachers and assessors in assessing competence and recording results. You can find out the process used in developing the tools that will enable practitioners to adapt or create tools specific to their learner groups and teaching contexts.

English as a Second Language

Sample assessment tools to support the implementation of the English as a Second Language (ESL) framework are available at the Training Support Network website.
