For government funded training places a refund may be applicable in the following circumstances.
If you leave a course, you may be entitled to a full or partial refund of the fees paid. To receive a refund you must notify the provider in writing of your withdrawal within four weeks of the scheduled start date for the course.
If the provider cancels a course you are entitled to a full refund of the tuition fees, an appropriate amount of the student services and amenities fee, and fees for any materials that have not been used.
If you enrol in a course but then apply successfully for RPL, you may be entitled to some refund of the tuition fee, depending on how many hours are in the course, and what you have already paid. If you apply unsuccessfully for RPL you are not entitled to any refund of fees paid for the service.
For Diplomas and Advanced Diplomas where VET FEE-HELP is available, some special rules about refunds will apply. The training provider will be able to give you information about what refunds apply in that case.
A provider may decide that a refund is appropriate under other circumstances.
