Fees
This information applies to students undertaking training courses. For information on university course fees, visit the Going to Uni website.
Student fees for training courses
The fees payable for training depend on whether you are taking up a government funded place, or whether you are paying as a fee for service student.
Fee for service
If you are paying as a fee for service student, the provider sets the fees. You will need to get information directly from the provider about the fees for your selected course.
Government funded places
If you are eligible for a government funded place, some of the cost of the course will be covered by the government, and you may also pay fees based on an hourly rate with a maximum set by the government. Additional costs, such as student services and amenities fees may still apply.
This section provides information about the fees payable for government funded training places under these headings:
- What you should know about fees
- Fees for government funded training
- Concessions
- Fee exemptions
- Refunds
- Fees for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
- Commencements before 1 July 2009
The rules covering fees for government funded training places are the same, whether your provider is a TAFE institute, a TAFE Division of a university, an Adult and Community Education provider, or a private training provider.
