Industry Training Advisory Bodies in Victoria

To ensure there is strong industry leadership of the training system, the Victorian Government funds a network of industry bodies which are experts on training needs and delivery in their particular industries.

The key roles of the 16 Industry Training Advisory Bodies (ITABs) are to:
  • provide authoritative, independent information on training needs and critical skill shortages through industry intelligence gathering and networking
  • promote skills development and take-up of training by enterprises in their industries
  • assist enterprises to understand and use the skills system to get the best outcome for their business and staff
  • contribute to the development and improvement of training products
  • work collaboratively with Industry Skills Councils at the national level.
