Maffra resident Kerrie-Lyn Young won the 2008 Victorian VET Client Service/Support Excellence Award.
“The overall experience gave me an increased self-awareness of my achievements and personal development,” said Kerrie-Lyn.
“This Award gave me the opportunity to identify the contributions I had made within the organisation.”
Kerrie-Lyn holds a pivotal management position as Reception and Student Services Manager at East Gippsland TAFE with 13 staff reporting to her across two campuses. She has successfully researched and implemented a customer-focused approach to the Student Debtor System.
Kerrie-Lyn had overseen a range of projects that had delivered significant productivity gains and improved service quality for students by streamlining enrolment and fee payment processes.
Kerrie-Lyn’s success at the Victorian Training Awards has also inspired her colleagues.
“Winning this Award has also encouraged other support staff within my organisation to put their hand up for professional development opportunities. Re-skilling or up-skilling new and existing workers will be critical to the success of our industries and the State’s future,” said Kerrie-Lyn.
