Victorian Employer of the Year

Ridley AgriProducts

Ridley-AgriproductsRidley AgriProducts won the 2008 Victorian Employer of the Year Award.

Ridley AgriProducts has forged strong partnerships with training providers such as Innoven, a business unit of Goulburn Ovens Institute of TAFE, to foster a culture of continual improvement, making the company Australia’s largest producer and leading supplier of stock feed.

The company's mission is to be the 'preferred supplier to its customers for animal nutrition.' Ridley Agriproducts is committed to training and development as a means of equipping and retaining its employees, standardising work practices and reinforcing its core values.

The partnership with Innoven and Goulburn Ovens TAFE has delivered consistent improvements in work practices resulting in improved business performance and positive cultural change.

Ridley Agriproducts' Organisation Development Manager, Brad Roberts said the process of applying for the Victorian Training Awards was highly constructive for the company.

"The selection process was thorough but beneficial in that it highlighted our strengths as well as areas for improvement. The challenge was framing our training processes and results in terms of the five selection criteria," he said.

"However, this was an extremely valuable process in terms of benchmarking and reflection of best practice. The Award helped demonstrate the value of training within the business in tangible ways and established the link between business strategy and training processes."

"The Victorian Training Award night was truly first-class and very enjoyable. Winning the Award was simply fantastic."
